Llama Hike
Enjoy a one-of-a-kind hike in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains with our friendly llamas! Hikers will learn about our famous llamas’ interesting histories and how to safely handle the animals before heading out on a hike with gorgeous mountaintop views on our private trails.
Each family/group gets 1 to 3 lovable llamas to share and there’s plenty of time for llama cuddles and, of course, llama selfies! This moderate hike is around 1 mile long and does require requires walking uphill on rocky and sometimes slippery terrain. This experience lasts approximately an hour and a half.
Reservations required to reserve your spot on the hike. We need a minimum of 4 hikers for a hike to go as scheduled and may contact you about rescheduling if we do not have enough bookings. We welcome all ages on our llama hikes, and children 5 and under are free. When you make your reservation, please let us know if you have anyone under that age.

*If these dates and times do not work for you, private llama hikes scheduled upon request – bring your group or family out to Earthshine Lodge and hang out with a llama.
The price is per person, not per llama. If you have more than 10 people in your group, please contact us about a group discount.

Activities continue rain or shine. However, if we feel that the weather conditions will interfere with guests safety or are not conducive to a great experience (storms, heavy rain, or icy conditions), we will evaluate on a case by case basis. If we need to cancel an activity due to inclement weather, we will contact you as soon as possible and issue a full refund or reschedule depending on the guest’s preference. Due to our location, weather is often difficult to predict so we continuously monitor the conditions and will communicate any changes to our programming to you via email and/or phone.
Please understand that our activities require advance planning and staffing and can be significantly affected by last minute cancellations. Guest cancellations are accepted up to 48 hours in advance for llama hikes. Reservation changes or cancellations made before these time restrictions receive a full refund (minus the 3% booking fee). Changes, cancellations, and/or early departures under 48 hours in advance of llama hikes will result in the forfeiture of your payment.
