Fireside Writing Retreat
January 9-11, 2026
3 days/ 2 nights (option to add a night)
Winter is indeed the perfect time to turn inward: to construct or refurbish our creative scaffolding. It’s also a time for quiet and rest–necessary acts of creative care for any artist. Our goal with this retreat is to offer a private, comfortable, and dedicated space in which to rest, write, and be inspired—and a community of creatives to support and encourage writing progress and goals. Join us with work-in-progress or come to create something new, and plan to be inspired by the crackle of the fire and the icy blue of the winter mountains.
Fly Fishing Retreat
April 10-12, 2026
3 days/ 2 nights
Spring and fall in North Carolina are ideal times to go fly-fishing! Presented in partnership with the world-renowned fly fishing guides at Headwaters Outfitters, this is a trip you won't want to miss. Spend your days casting over clear, cold mountain waters, and your nights enjoying delicious and hearty home-cooked meals and drinks by the fire. With a small instructor to student ratio, you’re sure to advance your skills, and there are few places better to cast your line than the waters of western North Carolina.
Relax & Renew Wellness Weekend

Take some time to focus on your health and well-being before the summer months. Enhance your wellness journey with a relaxing weekend of yoga, guided nature hikes, and more. Use this time to renew in the stillness of the wilderness, the beauty of the mountains, and the nourishment of our delicious, wholesome mountain lodge meals. Each retreat guest receives a gift basket with local goodies selected with your pampering in mind!
Nature Photography Retreat - Firefly Weekend
June 5 - 7, 2026
3 days/ 2 nights
Earthshine Lodge's location, rich in diverse landscapes and wildlife, is an ideal learning environment for both novice and seasoned photographers looking to refine their skills. In the second year of this popular retreat, participants will get the opportunity to learn the intricacies of catching fireflies on camera, and receive immediate feedback and coaching on style and technique, helping them to take their photography to new heights, while also enjoying night hikes to see the synchronous and blue ghost fireflies.
Writers & Artists Residency
August 17-23, 2026

Step into a week of uninterrupted creative time at Earthshine Lodge. This artist residency brings together writers, artists, and creatives who want space to focus on their craft while being inspired by a small, like-minded creative community. Days are yours to create: write by the creek, sketch on the porch, or wander the woods and let ideas unfold. Evenings invite easy connection over shared meals, campfire conversations, and the quiet comfort of being surrounded by fellow creatives. Come make something, and let the people around you help spark what’s next.
